Injury #3,652

Dear Connor,

*sigh* We have another entry for the Connor-hurts-himself-and-gives-Mommy-a-heart-attack files. You were at the playground with your friend Hailey today and when it was time to go, I told you to give Hailey a hug goodbye. She was hanging off of a bar and you grabbed her around the waist and threw your legs up in the air so that you were hanging off of her. Before I could tell you to get down before you got hurt, you got hurt. You lost your grip on Hailey, fell and hit your left eye on the corner of the climbing wall. I screamed, you screamed, it was not good. I hugged you tightly until you stopped crying and then checked your vision. You could see fine but a bruise was already forming under your eye--what is it with you and all of the injuries near your eye?!

On the way home, you told me that you felt better. And the bruise didn't swell up much tonight, so you'll be fine. But yeesh. This week, your school actually sent home a pamphlet for student accident insurance, which I'm pretty sure they created just for you!

Jumping around in a ball pit. Thankfully one of the few times you went wild and *didn't* get hurt.

More Burning Questions

Dear Connor,

I love the inquisitive--albeit random--questions that come out of your mouth!

-Are these my boobies?
-Can milk come out of them?
-What do boy boobies do?
-Why don't you lift up your shirt and give MuiMui nai nai anymore?
-I used to be in your stomach?
-How can I make my stomach big with a baby inside?

Mom

Accident-Prone Much?

Dear Connor,

Last Thursday, your school nurse called me to tell me that a kid in your class had been playing around on the floor and kicked you in the head.

Last Friday, your school nurse called me to tell me that you ran into a wall and hit your head.

Today, your school nurse called me AGAIN to tell me that you had put your hand in the stack of cots in your classroom and gotten your arm stuck so hard that your teachers had to help you get it out. Once they did, they could see that it was red and a little bruised.

All three times, the nurse assured me that you were fine after he iced the injuries but seriously, kid! I guess I have to stop joking about sending you out every day in a helmet, bubble wrap and Styrofoam shoes and actually start doing it!

Mom

Color Me Blessed

Dear Connor,

While you and I were coloring together after dinner tonight, you said to me, "Mommy, I love coloring and reading and cuddling with you. You're the greatest, best mama in the whole world. I love you, sweetie."

Day made!

Mom

Just Ignore Him

Dear Connor,

When I dropped you off at school today, another boy was bothering you, so I told you to ignore him. You then ran up to the boy and yelled at him, "I'm ignoring you!" Um, let me explain to you how ignoring works . . .

Love,
Mom
